O2Micro Receives Battery Gauge Patent

GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman, April 16, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- O2Micro(r) International Limited (NasdaqGS:OIIM - News) (HKSE:0457.HK - News), a leading supplier of innovative power management, and security components and systems, was issued 13 claims under United States patent number 7,161,520 for its high precision Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) gauge; a continuation of the invention issued June 2004 under United States patent number 6,744,394.

This patented invention measures the general state of charge of a LiIon or Li-Polymer battery pack. It provides highly accurate charging information to enhance end-user experience. Product applications include battery packs used in notebook computers, E-Bikes, Power tools and test equipment.
