O2Micro International Limited Elects Dr. Zhuoping Yu to Board of Directors
GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman, June 27, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- O2Micro(R) International Limited (OIIM), a global leader in the design, development and marketing of high-performance integrated circuits and solutions, today announced the election of Dr. Zhuoping Yu to its Board of Directors.
Dr. Yu brings more than twenty years of experience in the automotive and technology industries to the position. He currently serves as a professor at Tongji University in Shanghai, China, where he is dean of the school's automotive department. Dr. Yu is on the board of directors at SAIC Motor Corporation Limited in Shanghai, China.

Previously, Dr. Yu was employed at the Automotive Research Institut in Technical University Braunschweig, Germany; the research and development department of Volkswagen Group, and the automotive institute of the Technical University Darmstadt. He is the leader of Chang Jiang Scholars and Innovation Team for energy efficiency and environmental initiatives, and is the chief scientist of the National Basic Research Program in China (a.k.a. the "973 Program"). He also holds the following posts in China: vice president of the Executive Council of SAE-China; Chairman of the Commission on Technology of FISITA 2012; vice president of the executive council of China Auto Talents Society; member of the Science and Technology Commission in the Ministry of Education; member of the MOST experts related to Energy Efficient & New Energy Vehicles; and member of the New Energy Vehicle Program acceptance committee.
